Submarines

These high-tech war machines have awesome fire- power, state of the art weapon and control systems, computer-controlled machinery and have a very high standard of habitability. One major responsibility of the submarines in peacetime is to train for war, as effectively as possible, in the knowledge that this will contribute to its prevention. If you successfully complete the rigorous training, which is conducted at Visakhapatnam.

Engineer Officer

Modern warships, submarines and aircraft have high-tech engineering equipment as well as steam, diesel or gas turbine propulsion. As Engineer Officer, you could also get opportunities to work in the Naval Dockyards and shipbuilding units. Specialisation in Naval Architecture, which deals with warship design and construction, is another attractive career option. Engineer officers are trained at the Naval College of Engineering, INS Shivaji, Lonavla, near Pune.

Electrical Officer

As an Electrical Officer, you will deal with computer based or computer-aided weapon systems, missile systems, underwater weapons, underwater weapons, radars and radio communication equipment and ensure that all these sensitive and complex equipment are dept operational at peak efficiency. Electrical Officers are trained at INS Valsura near Jamnagar and INS Shivaji.

Education Officer

The education and much of the training requirements or the Navy range from general academic studies to the latest technical innovations. A rewarding profession where career advancement of Naval Officers and sailors would be your responsibility.

Diving Officer

The particular challenging specialization wherein being in the parent professional arm with its sub-specialisation like Gunnery, Navigation, Anti submarine warfare or be it Logistics, Hydro, Aviation etc. one can become a Ship's driver.
